"Being a leader in government is always a challenge, but being a leader in local government, in your hometown, in your neighborhood, is one of the most challenging of all forms of representative government. Kathy Parker has proven time and time again that she values people, values logical, practical growth and values the health, safety and well-being of her district and her hometown. I find her to not only be an amazing representative of her district, but a great friend and advisor. The city has grown and continues to put citizens first under her watch. She loves and respects this city and ALL of our citizens. She has earned her stripes as a City Councilor. Let's keep her there!"

-- John Dennis, Mayor of West Lafayette

"It has been my honor to work with Councilwoman Kathy Parker. She is honest, forward thinking, and loyal in her service of the West Lafayette community. Kathy Parker does not shy away from hard issues. She will not bend to anything or anyone who does not work for the good of West Lafayette. She is present and engaged in many areas of the community. She is the best choice as a Council representative for this city. I totally, and without reservations, support Kathy Parker for City Council."

-- Sana Booker, West Lafayette City Clerk

ABOUT KATHY

Kathy has lived in the University Farms subdivision of West Lafayette since she moved to the city with her family in 2001.

First elected to the West Lafayette City Council in 2019, Kathy has a long history of volunteering for various organizations including  Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and PRIDE Lafayette. In addition, she has led fundraising efforts for causes that she cares about including the Lafayette YWCA domestic violence shelter Lafayette Hunger Hike, and Alzheimer's Association. When she sees that action or funding are required to fill a community need, Kathy enlists the help of others and focuses on achieving the goal.

In addition to her role as City Councilor, Kathy works as the Director of Career Development and Advising at the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy. As a leader in the community, she serves as a voting member on the Area Planning Commission, and non-voting council liaison to the West Lafayette Go Greener Commission, the West Lafayette Parks Board, and Human Relations Commission.

For fun, Kathy loves spending time with her family and walking around our beautiful parks. She can be found early most mornings either on the elliptical machine or in the pool at the West Lafayette Wellness Center.
